Meet Brooklyn! This beautiful thirteen year old Cocker Spa irl was brought to the Manhattan shelter by her ill owner who was going into the hospital for triple bypass heart surgery. He had planned to take her back when he was released, so the shelter agreed to hold her there. We in turn have offered to foster her to get her out of the shelter and into a temporary home. We are concerned that, as a fragile senior, Brooklyn will fare poorly there. The shelter has finally agreed to release her and she will be heading our way. Unfortunately how dad is not doing well after surgery, so her future is uncertain.
Other than an ear infection (which is being treated), heart murmur (which needs to be assessed) and the need for a dental (which will be done), Brooklyn is a healthy dog. She has a nice disposition and is sweet and friendly with everyone. We believe she can be placed with children provided that they are older, gentle and dog experienced. Brooklyn has been spayed, microchipped, is current on all shots, and is heartworm negative. Brooklyn can go home as a temporary foster or potentially on a foster to adopt basis depending on the outcome with her owner and his health. To help Brooklyn, please complete an application online.
